About Project

Peek A Blue is my own coastal-inspired homeware and décor brand, created to celebrate the beauty of the ocean and the simplicity of sustainable living. The brand offers natural coastal products, bespoke décor pieces, and made-to-order home accents, each designed with an emphasis on craftsmanship, natural characteristics, texture and balance.

This project represents the complete journey of building a profitable e-commerce business end-to-end — from concept and design to marketing, packaging, and growth strategy. My goal was to create a cohesive brand experience that felt natural, light, airy, and modern, while staying true to sustainable values and authentic coastal style.

The Challenge & Strategy

The home décor space is saturated, but few brands genuinely capture the calm sophistication of coastal living without leaning into clichés. I wanted to bridge that gap — to create a brand that felt modern, sophisticated, elegant, and modern while maintaining a natural and handmade touch.

Design Process

This brand was built on the idea of bringing the beauty of nature into everyday spaces — celebrating organic shapes, earthy textures, and calming tonal palettes. I crafted an identity that feels both refined and approachable, combining minimal design with a modern interpretation of natural living.

My creative direction blends modern craftsmanship with soft, organic minimalism, resulting in a visual identity that feels premium but welcoming. Every aspect of the brand — product styling, photography, packaging, visual identity, social content, and the overall digital presence — follows the same thoughtful aesthetic.

Key Strategies

Brand Identity
Created a modern, memorable coastal-inspired name that was simple, distinctive, and easy to brand. The logo used a minimal mono-script style to convey elegance, craftsmanship, and premium quality — adaptable across packaging, web, and product labeling.

Website & UI Design
Designed a cohesive and intuitive Shopify experience featureing aesthetically pleasing layout, product photography, and styling inspirations. The interface guided customers through color stories, product collections, and bespoke offerings while maintaining a calm, spacious feel.

Art Direction
Each product was photographed with intentional styling — using linen, natural materials, ceramics, soft shadows, and layered textures to create a clean, aspirational aesthetic. The art direction reinforced the brand story and positioned the products as refined, organic, handcrafted pieces

Produced email campaigns, social media content, seasonal promotions, and collaborations. Visual storytelling, behind-the-scenes content, and styling tips helped build trust, brand warmth, and customer loyalty.

The brand’s quality and aesthetic attracted high-end clients, including interior designers, stylists, and luxury hotel and resort groups. I created custom pieces, curated collections, and visual content tailored to their projects and brand environments.

Outcome

The final brand became a fully functional, profitable business — still operating successfully after four years with strong repeat customer rates and consistently positive product feedback. The cohesive aesthetic, refined tone, and storytelling-driven website contributed to strong customer engagement, increased order value, and growing partnerships with boutique hospitality clients. The brand achieved a balance of being friendly, warm, and accessible while still delivering a premium coastal look and feel that appealed to creative hobbyist, home stylists, professional designer and high-end brands.
